has she been constipated because this can cause a small tear. I would get her checked out to be on the safe side but it's probably just a tear.

First off I would call your hv. They are meant to be available by phone (have never tried this). Second I would probably try and book an emergency appointment at your GP. As daisy says, it's probably constipation and nothing to worry about (make sure she gets plenty of fluid today) but I would want it checking out if I were you. GPs are normally pretty good at fitting in appointments for babies at short notice.

no she hasn't been constipated. my dp informs me now that he changed her bum last night when i was out and the poo looked red then.

i'm no expert, but when my little ones were small i took one of them-can't remember which one!-to docs about same thing. he/she had a "spot"just inside which was causing the problem.my doctor told me that they worry more when the poo is black.obviously, you'll get her checked out but this is probably just a tear as daisy said.

i have rang doctors im waiting for a doctor to ring me back now.

It's always worth getting it checked by the doctor, make an appointment, they never mind seeing babies.

daisy1999 · 17/03/2006 11:31

did you get to the doctors panda?

pandagirl03 · 17/03/2006 23:30

sorry daisey didn't see this.

no doctor rang me they said she was constipated and her poo must be too hard and tore her a bit inside. no bleeding since so must have been right.

thanks 4 asking Smile
