OTT or sensible precaution with chickenpox?

My DD has chickenpox and I am first time mum so am very inexperienced ... Could you help settle a "discussion" between DH and me?

DD is still infectious but DH suggested I took her to see my parents. This would involve going on public transport and then visiting two people in their 70s who are healthy-ish but have blood pressure problems and diabetes.

I think I should keep DD out of other people's way for a bit. I feel particularly strongly about not going on public transport as you never know who else will be on it ... Pg ladies, immuno suppressed people, people who are not immune to chickenpox, small babies etc etc.

My parents are a slightly different matter as I could ask them and they could judge whether it is ok or not.

What do you think? Am I being massively OTT?

Thanks

Smile

No you are not being ott, your dh is ignoring nhs advice, which is to keep away from others whilst still infectious (5-7 days o until spots all crusted over).

Going on public transport would be hugely irresponsible.

No, you sound very sensible and considerate.

Thanks, I thought I was going mad.

I think DH doesnt realise how dangerous chickenpox can be...
