Give your washing up bowl or a bucket a good boiling water scrub, sit her in it with nothing on the bottom half and give her a load of bath toys and a drink she really likes?

Am really Shock about these 'special pads', we were in A&E with dd in December, they wanted a sample and I had to take her nappy off, sit her on my lap infront of cbeebies (to keep her still) and wedge a little pot between her legs for 3 hours!! Naturally everyone got soaked once she obliged and we scooped up about a teaspoonful.

Those pads sound great, I don't know why they're not standard everywhere.

Pads are great, around here you usually get a sticky bag - they're crap and never catch anything, even with boys!

failed! thanks for the offer of the pads but GP wanted asap either today or tomorrow

going to try again in the morning, well dh will i'm at work tomorrow! will suggest the big bowl idea, guess could always put her in the empty bath.

haven't reaf the whole thread but dd had a urine infection a couple of months ago and is on long term anti b's. I literally has to sit her on my lap with a bowl underneath her for about 4 hours to get a clean sample.

The 1st time the nuirse tried to get a sample, it was contaminated so thats why I had to wait about another 4 hours.

Anyhow, the 1st time worked by putting dd's feet in cool water or splahing them with cool water. Don't know how it works but the nurse uses this method every time and every time it works. Just a bloody shame she didn't use a pot the 1st time too instead of a sanitiry towel then we'd have been ok. Good luck!
