Low protein C

Hi All
Does anyone know about this, or know an HCP they can ask because its going round and round in my brain.

We lost a daughter to stillbirth in April. Right from the beginning we accepted it was unlikely they would find a reason. Sure enough when we had the initial follow-up appointment with the consultant she siad all tests had come back negative. We agreed a plan for future pregnancies, but she sent me for a couple more blood tests on the off chance.

One came back showing my protein C was low. I am being retested this week.

I have done all the usual googling and think I understand the implications if it remains low. What I can't find is any info on if it is likely to have gone back to normal.

So after a long ramble, my question is: do protein c levels drop in all women after childbirth and increase after a certain number of weeks?

Sorry for long post.

Thanks.

scater,so sorry for your loss Sad

I think you would be better to post this in the conception or pregnancy sections, where they hopefully would have more knowledge about this.Good Luck.
