Does it matter if you just stop taking prozac?

Or should you do it gradually? Just wondering if this is what's wrong with me.

Yep..going cold turkey is not a good idea. Have you been advised to stop by your doctor?

The best way to do it would be to miss every third day for say 2 weeks, then every other day for another 2 weeks then cut it out completely to see how you feel.

Haven't spoken to my Doctor, I kept forgetting to take them and then I ran out and I just didn't get anymore. Not been feeling too good for a while now. Very miserable and upset, can't get anything done, shouting at the kids etc etc. The thought of christmas is just too overwhelming at the moment.

Can you call and get an emergency prescription? Its sounds like you aren't ready to come off, and if you do it really should be under medical supervision?

MincePie · 19/12/2003 14:17

Please don't sit there and suffer if you are feeling low

Brandysnap · 19/12/2003 14:19

I'd have to go out and collect it and I just can't face going out at the moment. I'd have to take all 3 kids with me and it's too stressful.

Is there no one who could get the prescription for you or to sit with the children whilst you pop out. If are feeling this bad and the pozac was helping then please please don't suffer all Xmas. Where do you live, I'll collect it for you if you are near(ish)

Brandysnap · 19/12/2003 14:27

That's very kind of you Pie, but I know you've got loads on your plate already, as have plenty of others at this time of year.

I suppose I should just give myself a kick up the arse and get down there. I know I'll get upset though if I have to speak to anyone, can't stop crying at the moment.

I might be able to go tomorrow as my mum should be here in the morning.

Please do that!

I've got to go out to my osteopath now, but I'll be back later if you need someone to talk to

MincePie · 19/12/2003 22:20

Just got back online...I hope you're doing ok Brandysnap. Have you sorted out another prescription?

Brandysnap · 22/12/2003 22:07

Thanks for your help the other day. I haven't been back to the Doctor yet but I am feeling much better now.

It seems that I am obviously suffering from a bad case of PMT. I have noticed a pattern emerging but I'm not very good at remembering when I'm due on, so I didn't realise. As soon as my period started the clouds lifted. I think I might need to get some help to deal with it though as it is having such a severe effect.
