lymph nodes

I had stomach surgery this week, and the surgeon says he found an unusually high number of swollen lymph nodes which he has sent for biopsy.

I asked him if that was something bad and he looked away and said lets just wait and see.. I was in a drugged up haze at the time so didn't ask for more info at the time

Not good is it? I have to wait 2 weeks for the result and i'm scared..

Try not to panic, it could be lots of things. An infection can make them swollen, the ones in my neck were swollen for years and there was no cause.

Crispy I have two lumps in my groin and saw the GP yesterday as I was freaking out. She said they're probably swollen lymph nodes or cysts and nothing to worry about. She's doing blood tests because I've lost quite a lot of weight but I'm not sure that's related. I'm not entirely comfortable with the idea that they're 'probably' ok but I presume she'd know if they were something to be worried about.

Did your doctor give you any indication of why they might be there? I think they can happen seemingly randomly, like if your body's fighting off an infection you don't even know you've got, so hopefully they're nothing to be concerned by. I share your worry though!

Thanks you both.. no Dr didn't say much at all as far as I recall, bearing in mind I was off my tits on morphine at the time.

I think it was the way he looked away and said let's just wait and see that worried me.. and now it's building up and building up so that I've got myself dead and buried by the end of the year.. I have stayed away from google tho.

@CrispyHedgehog I know this post is super old, but did you ever get a diagnosis?
