Brown vinegar in bath?
Oatmeal in bath?
Pea Water
Baking soda and water mix to stop itching?
Vitamin E oil
Honey to help skin heal?
Neem Leaves?

theres quite a few on the net, DD's got ealry stages of the rash and i would like to be prepared to help her if need be (14 mo) Have searched net but would like to know if anyone has actually tried any of the above at all?

Thanks

I'd heard that putting oats in an old sock and using that in the bath works well.

The baking soda/water mix and oatmeal in the bath both definitely help. I don't know about the others though.

ds1 has had chicken pox twice.

1st time i done the calamine lotion bit and they seemed to last forever

2nd time i was told to cover him in talc after his bath etc which i did and was amazed how quick they cleared.

there is a huge outbreak of chickenpox where we are and if the twins get them then its talc for them

hi dd had chicken pox 5 weeks ago,did use the baking soda in the bath, not sure if it worked really well.wish id known about mn back then.doctor told me her spots had turned into impetigo and prescribed antibiotics which she constantly threw up so took her back, diff.doctor said just really bad case of chilcken pox!

just remembered that i also contacted a homeopath who prescribed something, again not sure if they definatly worked or whther the virus was on its way out.my dd was happier to take these as well because they have a sweeter taste and they can crunch them:)

Oatmeal in the bath and also teh homeopathic remedy Rhus-Tox. Whilst most homeopathic medicines should be prescribed individually Rhus-tox is one of the few exceptions and seems to work on chickenpox for most people. You can get it at msot chemists (definately boots) You need the 6c potency, and give one pillule every few hours before they start and whilst the child is complaining of itching
