Ds (5) seems to be prone to nose bleeds, he has at least one a week or so. They usually only last 5 mins or so. I took him to the dr when they started and he reassured me they were fairly common and not serious.
They've recently got heavier though and last night he had a massive one that lasted around 30 mins. It kept stopping and starting up again and after about 20mins it started flooding and twice what looked like clots came out.
It was late so I rang NHS direct who advised me to take him to A&E but while I was speaking to them it finally stopped and didn't start up again. They said it was ok to stay at home but to take him in if it started again.
He's been fine since then & I've got a drs appt to check him out.
Is this still fairly common or does it sound like excessive bleeding?
