Lump in armpit,panicking!

Just found a small lump in my armpit, feels a bit tender when I poke it with my finger. My anxiety levels have increased gradually since having dc and at the minute they are through the roof, have just been physically sick since finding the lump! It is right where the under arm hairs are, hoping it is something to do with shaving, like a blocked follicle.

Don't panic. It could very easily be something like a blocked follicle . I had a manky mole in my armpit a few years ago (over Christmas so drs appts were a nightmare to get). I got as far as an appointment to get it removed. The dermatoligist who was going to remove it said 'hang on a minute', got an anti-bac wipe and removed the 3mths worth of jumper fluff that had scagged in the mole-scab. I'd obviously shave my mole.Blush Get it checked out tomorrow at the GP, tell them how worried you are - mine got me an appt even over Christmas when I said I was really worried - but try not to worry too much until you've spoken to someone. Hope it's nothing.

I've had a cyst in my armpit for over a year now. I've had it checked a couple of times and the dr had said she would be happy for it to stay there forever without causing trouble. Easily to get blocked ducts, ingrown hairs and cysts in sweaty, hairy places!
Get it checked to be safe but I'm sure it will be fine Smile

I had this a few years ago, felt awful too so saw GP, who tried to tell me it was caused by shaving. However, it disappeared after a week or so, which made me think it was more likely a swollen gland, so please try not to worry - it might go away.

This reminded me of previous scare, lump in same place, while staying at Mother's house when she was hospitallised. Her daft dog was used to sleeping with her, came into my bed one night, and I felt lump while blearily washing next morning.
Squinting in mirror, I recognised my piece of chewing-gum, left on table overnight, which I guess dog had chewed then hidden in safe place for later...

I have had pain in my armpit and a lump several times..always just before my period. Could it be hormones? If not it could just be a gland. Try not to worry and get to the gp if lasts more than a few days. Better safe than sorry!
