Hi and sorry about this question, I have an appointment booked. With the GP for Thursday but I thought I would ask here first... I'm 35, one child, normal delivery and I notice an increasing discharge from my V, if I don't wear pads my knickers and trousers get wet and even my legs,,,is it normal or could be something else? I have been using a coils for 5 years. TIA

Normal, I'd say it was abnormal or flippin lucky to get none

complexo · 14/08/2012 23:27

Really? How come no one never told me that?? Does it happen just to women who had normal delivery? I'm feeling like a teenager who didn't know about periods...

I would say I have a usual heavyish discharge, I prefer to wear pantliners, but as belgian says not to the extent that my legs would be wet. Thst sounds like urine to me. How's your pelvic floor?
Bet you're so glad you asked now Grin

Hi my child is 5. I think dump is the word I'm looking for, sorry I'm not a native speaker and it is not 'leaking' all day long but happens. The smell is like ....er..m sex? Sperm? I'm not sure. Colour is white.

That's what I would be like when ovulating.

Might be thrush, I used to be plagued by it and it wasn't always itchy.

I have used a mooncup before and been shocked at sheer volume of discharge! Sorry not useful but erm solidarity and all!

cocolepew · 14/08/2012 23:54

Oo-er drs and nurses

complexo · 14/08/2012 23:57

No itching or burning. Problem is I like to wear pantiliners or pads with very tight thick knickers but on hot days I like to wear the more silky loose ones. In my home country is common knowledge women should wear cotton kickers only and there are very good quality ones but here it seems to be all acrylic or bad quality cotton unless I'm shopping in the wrong places Won't cancel my trip to the GP though just hope they don't say it is so normal and dismiss me and later on turns out to be something...

The dr will probably do a swab just to make sure its not an infection.

I though cotton was cotton IYSWIM? I don't think you need a thread count on knickers.

But yes, M&S is you friend in the knicker dept. Smile

OlympickingMyNose · 15/08/2012 08:45

You say the smell is like sperm, any chance it might be sperm? Sometimes it takes a while to come out remembers when we were ttc, yuk

complexo · 15/08/2012 10:19

Huuuum, don't know if it is sperm because I had sex the night before, than shower on the morning and a leakage at around 6 pm....off to M&S now!

OP posts:
OlympickingMyNose · 15/08/2012 11:43

Yes, it sometimes stays in for quite a while. That's what I think it is, definitely!

kalidasa · 15/08/2012 12:59

Sounds like sperm to me too. Sometimes it can leak out a lot later in my experience (e.g. a day or more). And often does feel like a sudden "gush" when it happens to me. If you can be bothered you can do Kegel exercises after sex to get it out earlier.

complexo · 15/08/2012 13:56

So I will cancel my trip to GP and go to hairdressers instead lol
