Recurrent UTIs after childbirth - is there a reason??

That's it really. I'm getting them every other week, despite ABs, since giving birth to DD nearly 11 weeks ago. Doctor's surgery is a bit rubbish and while they're now in the process of trying to sort out why I've been ill so often, it takes a looooong time to get appointments.

They've taken blood tests (because the UTIs are only part of the problem) but does anyone know why this might be happening and if there's anything I can do to solve/improve it?

TIA from an increasingly disgruntled luckysocks (they blinkin hurt :( )

Thanks ohhelpohnoitsa! I did tear so that's interesting, I wonder if that could be the reason.

Presumably you don't have a small fistula? This would allow contents from your bowel into the vagina and then easy access to the bladder.

Have you been checked by a gynae? worth asking for a referral?

I've just googled that and it sounds like a definite possibility - gives me something tangible to ask dr about next time. Thanks, ameliagrey.
