For a few weeks I've been having some pelvic pain, like a heavy dragging feeling, sometimes in my sides, back etc Not all the time, it comes and goes.

Went to see GP, he examined me, he said he didn't think it was anything sinister but referred me for an urgent scan - date is September.

I've got myself into a real state about it - not eating, not sleeping, so worried. I'm going out of my mind. Obviously I've googled it and now I'm frantic. I've also got a pelvic prolapse (rectocele and cystocel I think) diagnosed lasy year. Could this be the cause of the discomfort? Sorry if this sounds naive? I also go running regularly - I've only just discovered that this is a big 'no no' with a prolapse :(. Anyone got any experience of this? I was just told to go and do pelvic floor exercises, didn't even know you could get physio for this?!!

Yes Bagpuss - prolapse can cause the kind of pain you're talking about. Pelvic floor exercises are a topic of much discussion over on the Any old prolapse? thread. I had a scan and a uterine biopsy to rule out anything else going on too.
