Well done for making the first step. You'll be so glad you stopped when you can see the improvements that it makes.

Apparently each craving only lasts for a couple of minutes then passes, so keep posting to try and take your mind off it.

WWB...it has got to the point were there is absolutely no reason to smoke and so many to give up, sick of feeling the terrible guilt when lighting up thinking about my baby Sad i am determined and i am NOT going to have any more, it is just so hard already, but i know once i get through today, i will get through tomorrow and so on...

One day at a time - in fact, take it ten minutes at a time, if it helps. You can get through the next ten minutes, and then the next - maybe that will seem a bit more achievable than taking a whole day at a time.

Thanks WWB, very good advice, thanks for listening Smile

Well done pucca

It must be really hard but so worthwhile. Remember it's not just for your childrens health but for you too. You're worth it (I know it sounds like the make-up ads)

Keep strong

Well done - it is bloody hard though!.

I managed to get to 5 per day in my first pg and then gradually down to 0 with a few backward steps in between tbh. I did lots and lots of deep breathing!! As WWB says keep posting and just keep busy. Yoga is a good idea, helps with the focussing thing

Thanks guys, my dh smokes too but he is gonna have a go at giving up same as me, i think once i manage to get through today i will find it easier but it is a nightmare trying to keep your mind off it lol.

Take up knitting or cross stitch or something to fill your evenings (my worst time when I gave up) and take your mind off it.

AND REALLY WELL DONE!!!!!

Keep it up pucca - you will soon stop counting the hours and it will be weeks and months and you will be so glad you did it.

notasheep · 09/03/2006 21:33

Take one day at a time

Mercy · 09/03/2006 21:44

Pucca, you are doing really well. Deep breaths and focus, focus, focus.
