Sore boob - what could it be?

My right breast has been sore for about 6 weeks now. Tender on the outside, low down but not quite underneath.

I can't feel any lumps, my nipples are the same, no discharge. It hurts all the time, worse if I roll on it at night. It feels a bit bigger than the other one, and I'm sure it looks a bit 'veiny', almost a bit discoloured over the sore area but DH can't see anything.

I haven't googled, but have been to see the Dr and I have an appt at our local breast clinic in a coupple of weeks.

Has anyone had anything similar? If so what did it turn out to be?

Thanks.

That's what I'm hoping too!

I resolutely refuse to google until my appt. It's not until 24th so it could be a long wait!

Yes I had this a few years ago, it went on for months. Had appointment with breast specialist and was told there was nothing wrong. GP was convinced it was stress.

Mine was just in one breast, but it was really painful. Mine looked normal too.

Thanks for posting ItWentThatWay.

I'm hoping that I get the same outcome.

Another one with painful boobs here - was referred to breast clinic, mostly to put my mind at rest - the doctor called it a long word but i was so stressed out that i cant remember what it was. But the important thing that is that its common and nothing to worry about. It comes and goes, can be achey can be tender/sore. It was much much worse whenever i wore underwire bras. Both boobs for me, but not at the same time - weirdo.
