Hello

I've been out on the above tablets, because ive been getting seriously excruciating period pain. I've done a bit of research as I always do about new meds but I'm just wondering if anyone else has any good or bad experiences with these. and do they work?!!

Also one of them says to be cautious when taken alongside anti-depressants. I started back on Citalopram today (a whole other story, I'm disappointed the depressions come back) and was wondering if there's been any adverse effects when taken with?

Thanks

My periods got really painful after ds3 was born. I was in agony and couldn't even walk. I was prescribed M.Acid and it did help a bit.. More than regular painkillers. I saw one specialist who suggested a hysterectomy Angry and then another in London who suggested I had a uterine polyp. Long story short I did have one, had it removed and have had light, short, pain free periods ever since. Just thought I would mention this in case your symptoms were similar

Thankyou for sharing your story mousemole! Sorry to hear you had a bad time and I'm glad you seem sorted now. Awful what us women have to go through sometimes. I'm sick of people looking up my fanjo and having awful periods..

Hopefully they'll work, even if it's a bit like you said it'll be a bonus

Thanks again Thanks

Good luck with them. I think I remember they were most effective if you start taking them the day before you have the worst pain. So for me the 2nd day of af was the worst so I started taking them on day 1. Smile

I think Buscopan helps. But Mefanamic acid didn't really. It kind of took the edge off but I could still feel a lot of pain. Now I'm on Diclofenac Sodium instead which works brilliantly.

Thankyou ladies, I appreciate your input. My next period is tomorrow and I've been getting cramps so started the tablets today.

Ive only had these bad ones for a few months. Weird how it's just come on. People think you're being soft when you say about crippling period pains. It's annoying

Just bear in mind the polyp possibility Ghost. Especially if you are passing big clots of blood. Sorry TMI Blush
