I'm not drinking today either. I had too much at the weekend.

I have stopped drinking in the past, for up to a month. I felt much better, no question. The evenings are always quite so much fun, but the mornings are bloody brilliant!

Do you mind me asking how long you've been thinking about this? The Brave Babes Battle Bus thread on the 'Relationships' board is a very supportive place for people who are trying to manage their drinking.

Well done for making the decision not to drink today.

Excellent. Have you thought about what you are going to do/have when the inevitable cravings start?

Thought about this for a long time. Over the last few years, it has increased and increased and every morning, I tell myself that I am not going to drink and get annoyed and frustrated. Over the last few years, I have stopped several times as I have come to realise that moderation or 'just a few' increases. However, each time, I somehow, after a period of time, decide to have 'just one' and it all starts again.

When I am at home, by this point in the day, I am often about to make dinner and my resolve disappears. However, today, I have given myself a big talking to and a good shake and have decide that this is it. I am not going to drink.

Good for you notdrinking. It helps me to think about how good I will feel the next morning, and maybe to plan something positive that I can do with my new energy. Also pouring yourself a nice soft drink, like cranberry with fresh lime and soda water, or a tonic water with a slice of lime, can help with not feeling so deprived.

Well done notdrinking, I have just completed my first week without alcohol and do feel the benefit. I have only ever stopped for a couple of weeks before but have been given tablets which advise not drinking and so have stopped. Diet Coke becoming my new addiction though :(

Now is my trigger time if I am not going anywhere with kids. Am keeping busy and have diet coke
