Spontaneous nosebleed in adult

Cause for concern or just one of those things?

At age 42 I had my first ever nosebleed today. I was quietly flicking through the magazines while DCs took an age deciding how to waste spend their pocket money, became aware of a runny nose and by the time I'd managed to get a tissue from my bag, my shirt, my shoes and the floor were covered in claret.

It went on for about 15 mins and eventually stopped on it's own. (I've only ever seen it in children before - I work in a school office and it seemed on a par to the worst ones I've seen in the children)

So is it just a one off and nothing to worry about, or should I get myself checked out? I feel well enough in myself etc.

For me that's pretty normal 'cause I've always suffered with nosebleeds but as it isn't normal for you then it's probably worth mentioning it to your GP. Any unusual bleeding needs investigating IMO.
