I wonder if anyone could shed any light on this? I was diagnosed hyperthyroidism in April. Main symptoms were terrible anxiety and an upset tummy in the mornings. I was put on 10mg carbimazole and the symptoms eventually calmed down. I had my the I'd tested this week as have had an upset tummy in the mornings and some insomnia again for the last week. My TSH has gone from 0.03 and 0.04 in April and June respectively to 3.69 this week. Is this a big jump in a short time or is that normal? I have also recently started taking calceos for a calcium/vit d deficiency. I was blaming these for the diarrhoea/nausea but just not sure! So fed up of not feeling properly well. :(. Obviously can't see my GP tilMonday now but thinking about stopping carbimazole?!

Yes sounds quite normal to me - carbimazole is blocking the hormone and this raises the TSH. 3,96 is not that high, don't stop the medication.
Just checked my own results, started carbimazole in november, TSH undetectable (under 0,01) in december, 1,6 in February and 4,1 in March and my doc never said it's unusual or anything.

Hell i wouldnt worry its not that bad. I was Hyperthyroid for 10 yrs with a level in the 300's when i was first diagnoised. I then had Graves Disease. I had every symptom in the book. Then 10 years later after putting up with it decided to go get RAI...now Hypothyroid! That went so low it was the worst the doc had ever seen...even to a point he thought i had a pituitary tumour! I again had every symptom..massive headaches and being freezing cold being the worse. I have had it all! Now on thyroxine 150mg daily and still feel crap lol
