Is anyone else sick of all this illness?

DD following her pneumonia has now come down with some bug, she is croaky and miserable and had a temp last night and this am. So I am at home AGAIN - lucky I can do some work from here by dialling in and have an understanding company, but I am just so BORED of her being ill, under the weather, crying at every little thing, being so GRUMPY and me never getting an uninterrupted night's sleep

Oh CD, what a nightmare. Did she recover fully from her pneumonia?

Ds1 recovered well and is fine now - back at school. I'm still adamant he has his coat zipped up and a hat on as I'm so worried that he's susceptible to picking up another bug now. So sorry your dd has.

Ds2 was really unwell over the weekend too - raging temp, lethargy and vomiting all over the place - horrendous.

There seems to be such a lot of bugs going round this winter don't you think? Mine hardly ever get ill and rarely pick up circulating bugs but 2 of them have this time.

Yes dd did recover from the pneumonia, had been back at nursery (which is no doubt where she picked this one up) She was not 100% though, had still been grumpy and easily tired

DS1 has got something similar to your DS1, GDG - raging temperature, lots of vomiting, looks really poorly .

No doubt the other two will succumb in due course!

However this is the first bout of illness we've had this winter so I guess we shouldn't complain too much.

CD I do hope your dd recovers soon. You deserve a break, you really do.

poor you - hope it doesn't turn into anything worse

I am completely and utterly fed up. Dd was off school for 2 days before half term with flu. Then we all got the vomiting bug in turn in half term. Then last week, dd was off school again for 2 days with a horrendously high temp and a rash and now ds is covered from head to toe in a rash which I thought was slapped cheek virus but now I'm not so sure.

All in all, I've had to go to the GP (for the kids) 4 times in the last 3 weeks :-( and I'm totally fed up of it all.

Oh CD - I do sympathise.

DS has been moaning and been veeerrry sensitive. Yesterday he complained of a headache and has no appetite. So far no temperature but I suspect it is just around the corner - I am just bracing myself (especially because I am sick myself this week). I just can't afford to take any more time off I have deadlines to meet and will fall behind.
Sigh! it really is never-ending.

Yes!! Me!! I am totally fed up of it! All 3 DS's have had the flu bug thing, got over that and now DS2 who was the worst with the flu has got a chest infection. Just when I thought he was perking up, the baby, DS3 decides to have diahorrea!!!

DH in Germany til next week and I have a sore throat

CD - Your poor little DD. They get so fed up with being ill don't they. She was obviously like DS2, and hadn't fully recovered from her earlier illness. They seem to pick up everything from nursery too, don't they. DS2 has been to nursery a whole 2 times out of 8 so far this term!

I think I will just go and serve an eviction notice on all the germs in this house....it may take a while!

We have so far escaped anything worse than a bad cold each. Don't know anyone who has had any of these bugs going round at mo actually. maybe not yet reached this neck of the woods!

CD, commiserations, dd had pneumonia at x,as and low and behold they said, oh the cough can linger and come back at any tiem within 16 weeks.
So sicne then we have had various good days and far many more bad ones. She onyl goes to 2 nursery sessions a week and has barely been all year.
Now she has an ear infection along with.. you guessed it
A chesty cough
I'm also with you on the sleep although dd is very delightful and snuggly and sleeps once comforted...

Completely agree, it is tedious when a child is constantly ill. When your child is unwell, of course you're concerned about them first and foremost. But, I often get the double whammy of guilt because dd becomes such hard work - grumpy and demanding, nothing is right, and nothing can satisfy her.

Last winter was far worse than this one for us. Don't know if it helped, but in an effort to have a healthier winter, dd and I both got flu shots.

Hope things improve soon.

Oh, it is miserable, isn't it? ds just recovered from flu with two ear infections and throat infection, raging temp etc. Roll on warm weather and sunshine to chase the winter bugs away (until avian flu arrives, that is }

God, yes! DD1 - a cold, then a chest infection, she never got rid of the cough, now all her two-year molars are coming through and she's miserable.

Gosh, i thought it was just passing between my friends and family!
We have had it on and off since Sept last year and its just going round and round....
Apparently Echinacea drops for babies and adults will keep future colds, bugs etc at bay.

gp said ds had two raging ear infections. he's been SO poorly. they did urine test but it came back clear today (sooo pleased).

was hoping we could hook up this week but maybe next...?
