I'm sure I'll have spelt it wrong, sorry? But, I think I have this at the mo and it's sooooo sore. A Tubigrip seemed to make no difference. Am trying to rest and elevate etc but life's a bit too busy for that.

Ow!

Its caused by various things and is not a 'real' diagnosis but a term given when your Dr/Foot person doesnt know exactly what the problem is.

Metatarsals are the long bone in the foot and anything ending in Algia means painful! so your diagnosis is...... Painful Foot!

Most common causes are arthritis, tendon/ligament strain or trauma.

Rest, elevation, gentle massage (with ibuprofen gel if you want) compression and a large wine/vodka/mug of tea. It should go within 5-10 days. Any longer then you need to go back to GP for xray and further investigation.

Thanks for the reply, it's appreciated. I know the name just means foot pain!

10 days? Oh great! Not been to the Gp, just googled foot pain, I'm an OT and have no faith in gps with this type of thing I'm afraid. But it's good to be told that I should go and see them if it hasn't gone by mid next week. Ta Smile
