What could this be?

Hello all,

I was on the depo injection for almost 2 years, i accidently came off it in November 2010 and it took till around June 2011 for my periods to come back regularly, i had previously had spotting in the April and then a light period in May. From June 2011 to June 2012 i have had a period every month pretty regular around the 19th - 25th of each month. So basically a month apart, then this July around the 5th i had bleeding (which really caught me by surprise) i bled for one day and then nothing, literally a one day bleed not spotting enough to fill a pad sorry TMI (although only one).

So on Thursday and Friday last week i had really bad cramps, all day i kept thinking i was gonna get my period again, but nothing happened and all the cramps have gone. Today i've had a few twinges in my lower back, however that could be nothing as i suffer from back pain anyway.

Has anyone had anything like this?

Or should i just put it down to my body still adjusting?

Hi cookielove presuming you didnt go back on depo, Have you been using an alternative form of contraception?

No i stayed off the depo, we only use condoms (most of the time)

If you've been regular in your cycles for a year, it doesn't point towards it being the depo anymore.

Although it could be possible to have an hormone imbalance.

Also have you ruled out pg?

I haven't ruled out pregnancy, although i did a test i think last month and it was negative but i haven't done one for a while. I guess there is a chance, but i'm kinda hoping it points to something else, like you read all that and think oh yes she must be ....... chicken pox or you know something that actually relates to me!!

Spotting followed by period type cramps and backache are my first pg symptoms, so it is probably worth poas to at least rule it out, particularly if you've had any condom lapses in the last month or so

Might not be what you want to hear but from what you've put in your post I'd be included to ignore the light bleed on the 5th and go on the basis that AF was due 19-25th and on that basis is about 3 days late based on longest cycle.

Yup, cramps followed by no af has meant pregnancy for me. You should defo test to rule it out op.

I have a test, shall i just do it now, or wait till tomorrow?

Well i didn't test last night and i haven't tested this morning as i can't find the test so i can either go get one (crazy idea as i have hardly any money) or try really hard to find the one i thought i had!!

Hunt the one you thought you had. Not many options for places to buy cheaper one open on a Sunday.

Well i live right next door to a sainsbro's i am so lazy that i'd prefer to pop out then look for it, which does not make sense really

I had some low level period style pain earlier but nothing much.

The girls over in the conception board might have a greater insight?
