Please help!!! 3 year old covered in superglue.....

Please can anyone tell me what to do- my little boy has dripped superglue in lines down his legs
He is now picking at it and screaming - the picking is making his skin sore and i NEED to remove it but how????

I'd take him to A&E. That stuff is impossible to remove.

Just gettin this stuff on skin burns. Take him to a and e now.

I have just googled it for you. It seems nail varnish remover might work and that there are debonders available but probably not good enough at the moment.

I often get superglue on my hands (ok, so I'm clumsy). Fairy Liquid and warm water liberally applied makes the superglue white and flakey and it just peels off. Might have to repeat the process a few times but I have never had any problems.

Moisturise the area well afterwards.

ok.... this happened to me..... my fingers got superglued together...

i went to A&E who told me the awnswer was water and copiouse amounts of it..... NOT fairy liquid or anyotehr substance just LOADS of water...

after over an hour of my hand under the tap my fingers became unglued... then i had a long long long time in the bath over the next 3 days which gradually got the rest off...

Got it hurt and peeling it is NOT the answer...

if i were you stick him the bath for at least an hour and just keep rubbing with a flannel and eventually you should see a result...

Trust me tho it takes ages and you will think its NOT working!

BTW when i was uper glued together i tried everything in the house.... nail polish remover... w. up liq... shampoo.... washing (clothes) liq... WD 40..... all purpose cleaner...soap etc etc etc etc

hello, I work in a and e and there is no real cure that they will have, nail varnish remover will help to break it up just make sure you wash the skin after.

If he is reacting to it you prob need to gethim seen for treatment of the wounds. hardwear stores have supergglue disolver but it is prob not suitable for young skin. We usually soak the area, Bath for as long as poosible and then nail varnish remover, then bath again, dont pick to much. At the end of the day we use superglue to hold wound totgether providing it has not burned him (needing medical attendtion) it will fall off within 10-14 days good luck!

my ds done similar thing once he painted his cheeks with my blue nail varnish !! used nail varnish remover and water! good luck if u r not sure ring NHS direct

We used acetone (nail polish remover) on his hands which was marginally successful but took ages.

The legs - where most of damage is we covered and then baby gro'd him. today one big patch has come off on its own already and he only moans and objects when he sees it ( loo and bath times) so i am leaving it to grow off! nail polish remover would have worked but to be honest it made skin a bit sore and distressed him so diverting his attention best policy.

As for the cat..................!
