Joint pain

Hi, I am at my wits end with this joint pain and not knowing what is causing it. It started 4 or 5 months ago in my wrist then a few weeks later it also started in my neck, it then started in my ankle and quickly followe by both knees and both elbows! Now over the last couple of days it has also started in my thumb and my jaw. I am on naproxen 500mg and although this does take the edge off I'm still very much in pain. I had blood tests done and they came back normal! I'm am so surprised and frustrated by these results as I was hoping to get some answers. I'm still waiting for an appointment to get X-rays done. Is there anybody that has been or is in a similar situation with any advice?

Possibly random one but any chance you could have caught slapped cheek? Did your DC's have any fluey like symptoms, usually mild, then rash around the time this started and is the pain constant or coming and going? If it is slapped cheek then often adults have horrible joint pain (neck sounds unusual but hands, feet, knees and ankles typical) and in rare cases this can reoccur on and off for months, even years. Have you had any rash/itchiness during the same period?

If it is slapped cheek it is no fun at all but at least not a serious health issue. I'm not sure they can test for it though, diagnosis AFAIK is usually by recognising symptoms.

Hi, I haven't had any rash or anything. None of the kids have had slapped cheek in the last few years. The pain is always there but is much worse in the morning. My elbow joints are the most noticeable ATM. I can't fully straighten them or bend them and they are very sore when I need to lift things or extend them in any way.

Get Referred quicker if you can I have similar but with a rash I have tested positive for possible auto immune diseases but next consultant app was october, I complained and got a letter today to say they've moved it forward to next week.

What did they test you for?

That's brilliant that your getting seen so quick! I'm not sure exactly what they were testing for. There was just a lot of abbreviations I didn't understand lol. I know there was a full blood count, various inflammatory tests and some rheumatoid test amongst others.
