Does this still sound like IBS?

I've had IBS for years on and off, but not severely. Quite often get that gut-twisting kind of pain and a sort of 'lifting' in one area - lower right.

But now it's different (for a few weeks now). Lower right area now feels swollen more often than not, almost like there's something there. Dull achey pain in lower abdomen generally, which I can also feel in my back. Buscopan and paracetomol do help.

Lots of upheaval and stress lately. I've just reintroduced caffeine after a couple of years off and I've been back on the pill for a while.

I do think I worry about my health too much so does this sound like an extension of the IBS? Anyone had something similar? I'm 33.

TIA Smile

Just to be on the safe side, I'd get it checked out. :)

I get IBS but on my left side, gurgly colon, rumbling stomach and constipation Blush

Lots of sharp pains from trapped wind, feeling full quickly (though I still eat too much!)

Go to the GP, even though they don't diagnose ibs, they'll at least be able to give you an indication.

Resurrecting the thread but blood and ultrasound came back clear, have to go for follow up thisweek.

Discomfort has got worse this afternoon, have had to take painkillers, feeling hot and pretty unwell, queasy. Frightened now. What is going on?

Not appendix I don't think, doesn't hurt more if I press and let go.

This reminds me of me. For 2 years I felt like this, went to gp, even had a barium enema, everything came back clear. Some days I thought I was going to burst open inside, pain was lower right. My gp had a year before suggested an anti depressant, I insisted I wasn`t depressed, even though my dh is fighting bowel cancer. In the end I gave in and tried them, plus an antacid pill, bingo..........no more pain! Occasionally now I forget to take one or other of the pill and I get a niggly pain back again. Worth a thought...........take care.

forgot to say I too felt sick, got hot and panicky, my heart would race, they were panic attacks!

Oh my goodness. So it felt entirely physical but wasn't?

Thats right, I really thought my appendix was going to burst or my bowel, one afternoon at my mums it was so bad my brother wanted to take me round to our local hosp! I used to sit with a hot water bottle on my lap to try and ease it, as soon as I started taking Citalopram it all went.

Blimey.

Saw doc today, he thinks it's probably just a flare-up of IBS but to go back in 2 days if no better. Given me Colofac (?) for the IBS which I think is starting to help but still quite uncomfortable.
