new mid cycle bleeding - why?

Am just past 40 and have always had regular but long periods-22 days off and 8/9 days on. For the last 4 to 5 months I have had a new pattern. Just after mid period I've had brown/pinkish bleeding (not much) then the full period. What reasons could account for this. it's entirely new but now a regular pattern. Thanks.

Should have said - this mid cycle bleeding lasts for days so it feels like I'm spending half or more of my time on my period.

Have a chat with your GP might be something they can help with!

I'm the same age and this has just started with me too. I've recently been diagnosed with fibroids, so it may be connected. But it's back to the GP again for me, and I'd suggest you go too. Once you are forty GPs take any changes seriously and test you for everything!
