Scalp psoriasis

Am having a mega flare up of my scalp psoriasis since having DD in April, am learning to live with the cosmetic side of things but the dry tightness is starting to really bother me.

Have tried Tgel shampoo which hadn't really made a difference, just wondered if anyone has any tips for easing the symptoms without resorting to medication.

Would something like lavender gel help? It soothes and cools irritated skin. I use it on my hands / fingers when my eczema flares up, and the skin starts cracking. Aloe Vera would be a similar thing.

I found t gel kicked in aftercabout a week, using it every other day.
But then my head seemed to become immune to it and flared up again. Been age though so am hoping it will work again

calcipotriol scalp solution is the only thing that works for me.

unfortunately it is the medication route, but only needs applying every few days and can be used with shampoo, so not too disruptive.

i'd been prescribed other medicated shampoos previously, all of which i found pretty useless.

it's so uncomfortable, so you have my sympathy OP.

I had this when I was younger and I used polytar shampoo, didn't smell great but if helped. I used it over night and washed out in morning.

When I was first diagnosed 20+years ago cocais (?)was prescribed - smelly, messy but my hair was glossy and sleek. And some scalp stuff beginning with b that stung like buggery if you had open sores.

Those were the days! I have no idea what they use now as I take medication now (very very bad psoriasis) so it gets annihilated like everywhere else but you have my sympathy OP

Thanks for all the replies, have being using Tgel every other day but as others have said things improved initially and then reverted back.
