Diastasis recti - what to do next?

Have had this confirmed by the GP (eight months postnatal) She gave me the number of the local Physios to ring which i duly did yesterday. The physio didn't really want to know, fobbing me off with things like "haven't you got the postnatal exercise sheet you got when you were discharged?" FFS, obviously not, or else I wouldn't be ringing would I? After almost begging she has out me on the waiting list to be "shown some exercises" which will be about 12 weeks.

So what do I do? The GP said there was a three finger gap, i still look 6 months pregnant, not to mention the constant lower back ache.

Just wondered if anyone has been in the same boat. What shall i do next?

Google "tupler technique" :)

Thankyou - have just had a look and already found more useful info than the physion gave me. Have you tried it yourself?

I had a 6 finger diastasis after having my twins. I also used the Tupler book and it really helped. Took a while as I wasn't following all the exercises religiously but I did do them (and still do as and when I think about my stomach!). It is good at explaining what is wrong and what muscles need to be worked to close the gap.

I have no gap to see now but if I lie down on the floor and tense my stomach there is a very slight dip where they meet. I am happy with that!
