Hi all,

I need to lose the extra weight i seem to have gained!

ive tried eating things in moderation and cutting out snacks and fizzy drinks altogether but i gradulally end up goig back to where i started.

therefore im guessing i just need to cut it all out... including the fizzy drink!!

id like to lose 2 stone to be happy with myself completely but anythings a start as it just seems to fluctuate.

Does anybody have any ideas or tips for me?

Im a stay at home mum so i do try and keep busy so as not to pick at food but i think the evenings are the problem..and portion sizes...i dont really know the exact portions i should be putting on the plate.

thanks, emma x

Personally, I thought Gary Taubes was a load of pants. If you're interested in what he has to say, you can get the gist of it by reading the Amazon reviews.

BIWI, do you really think that obesity has soared because of people eating low fat foods? Sorry, but I think it's as desperate a theory as Taubes' line that low carbing gives you bad breath because you aren't allowed sweets, so you can't eat breath fresheners. That one made me laugh out loud.

Don't get me wrong, if low carbing works then fair play, you've found your diet groove - and I'm jealous of your weight loss! But personally I think the 'science' is utter guff.

Ive just ordered ' low carb gourmet' feom amazon! Hoping that will inspire me where it comes to recipes :)
Loving all this feedback!

Why do you think it's a load of pants, Morris? I thought it was an amazing piece of work.

And I'm not the only one to come to that conclusion re low fat foods!

Why do you think the science is guff? What would your alternative solution/thinking be?

(Not trying to have a go, btw, genuinely interested in your views and why you hold them)

Bex - are you posting the same thing on every weight loss thread? Hmm

I have reported your post as it's clearly advertising your blog and not really in the spirit of this thread.

Is porridge out for breakfast on low carb diet? If so what do you have for breakfast?

This morning iv had a yogurt... Didnt realise it was the wrong sort though! Also u could try eggs: boiled/poached/omelette! Ive only just started this myself so not really sure what else at the moment! I am looking for more ideas today though! X
