Wheezing

I have had a wheeze for about 4 weeks and I am just wondering what to do. It usually gets louder of an evening and overnight when I can hear myself breathing. It is crackles, wheezes and sort of a low humming sound, always on expiration. I find it really distracting hearing myself wheeze as I fall asleep!

I smoke 2-6 cigarettes a day and I have a bit of a cough. My chest feels fine, no pain and I am not struggling to breathe, just really wheezy.

Is it just the smoking?

Sounds like asthma but you would need to see GP to check. You shouldn't ignore a symptom like this, even thought it is most likely nothing serious you should get it checked out.
