Has anyone had it done and was it successful? I have been offered this procedure due to mennoragia (very heavy periods) and would like to know more, please. Do you have to have a general anaesthetic or can you have a local?

Had an ablation (for heavy periods) and a couple of other procedures carried out under GA a few years ago. The 1st period I had afterwards was awful but after that they became very light. I know some women don't have periods at all after an ablation.

In the last year my periods are becoming heavier and think this may be down to the peri-pause.
Was glad I had it done and I wish I'd had it done a lot sooner.
