I know I should not really post about medical stuff on here but Im really looking for any bit of advice or maybe (hopefully) somone has been through the same thing as I am going through now.
To be quick and basic. My body is a mess I have no idea what is wrong and either does my doctor which is abit scary (I think he may think its a head problem or somthing) :(
Anyway I have always had a problem with depression and I never have had regular periods they were more like every four months or so. It has been 2 years since I gave birth to my little girl and I have had 2 periods since then my last one being well over a year ago. I have also been getting panic attacts at night and suffer from skin pigments all over my neck, shoulder and stomache I first got a few pigments on my stomache whilst I was pg. (Don't know if they all link but guessing so)
Now being worried about all this I have been back and forth from my gp who simply tells me I must be stressed,my body getting over childbirth and so on.
It is really getting me down now I am guessing my gp as he knows my history of deppression thinks it just at matter of that but I know it is not as I havnt been bad with it at all after my child was born.
Sorry to babble on but if anyone has any ideas please let me know.
Thank you Mnetters :)

Am not a Dr but I think you would need to give a bit more info eg age, weight, any recent tests, medication, past medical problems to get a sensible answer. I understand if you would not want to put that info online though

Hormonal issues after pregnancy can cause depression and I believe pigmentation issues. Has the GP done a full hormone screen with thyroid checks? Check out Dr Stud's web site for info on hormonal depression after child birth.

CoccoLover · 04/07/2012 19:36

I am 25
No other medical history other than the depression.
I have had my thryiod checked came back fine. My weight has never been an issue healthy bmi however I have been putting on weight easier with these problems and have found my hair is starting to fall out somtimes in chunks. Although again the gp keeps saying it is stress. The only thing I am stressing about is the fact the gp does not seem to know / care about it :(

Lupus possibly?

Jellykat · 04/07/2012 19:58

Your GP is palming you off, i'd go back and ask for a referral to gynae, its no skin off his nose and if your doc doesn't know maybe he can direct you to someone who does!

It sounds hormonal to me, you'd know how stressed you are, he sounds like a lazy sod!

topsi · 04/07/2012 20:12

Weight gain and hair loss could be thyroid. Ask for your test results then do your own research to decide if you have a thyroid issue. Drs are bad at diagnosing thyroid problems in this country

CoccoLover · 04/07/2012 20:23

Thank you all for your advice will be going back to the doctors next week I will have to push harder at him i think :)
