Has anyone else got this stomach bug?

I feel terrible. I keep being sick and dashing to the loo. I feel so dizzy and shaky and I can't even think about food.

It started on Sunday morning and it's no better yet. DD was sick yesterday and had the runs briefly today, but she seems happy enough.

I have had to take yesterday and today off work and I have just called to say I won't be in tomorrow. Am I right in thinking I have to wait 48 hours after last episode of vomiting before I can return to work (I'm a teacher if that makes a difference).

Please tell me I'm not alone!

You are so not alone...Same symptoms exactly, been off yesterday and today as I too am a teacher! Yes it is 48 hours from last vomiting or runs episode...

How strange! We do get everything going though!

I went to my GP last night with it as had a miscarriage a couple of months ago and wasn't sure if stomach pains were something to do with that. He said there is a nasty bug going around and to drink lots of water.

Quicksie sorry to hear you're going through the same thing. This half-term makes us prone to getting everything going, doesn't it?

If it's 48 hours from last 'episode' then that means another couple of days off, which wil make me feel terribly guilty. I really hate taking time off and I feel like such a malingerer (even though I obviously can't go in and throw up on the kids)! I have barely even stirred from my bed since Sunday night as I have not a drop of energy.

I'm sorry about your loss, but pleased your pains are unrelated.

We have had it too. Dh came in from work wed and said he felt weak. He went to bed and had horrible violent runs for nearly the whole of the next day. Sat ds1 threw up for the whole evening, followed by ds2 and then me. I also had runs. I feel very very tired still and so so lightheaded. The kids have bounced back and so has hubby i feel and look like a sack of shit. Last time i felt dizzy like this i was carrying a water infection and so now i am panicking. I am eating now and drinking loads of water but am just so tired.

Dear Sneezycatcher and chipstick don't worry it does go away eventually! I am on the mend today and feeling a lot less dizzy and sick.

I hate being off school too - the guilt is worse than the illness usually, but this time it just isn't fair to pass it around the staff and kids. Try to remember that you are sparing them the horrible experiences you have had this week! I am rubbish at taking my own advice obviously, and felt nothing but guilt for two days.
