Loose dirty nappies and teething...

Advice please.

DD has been showing signs of teething for a while now but Sunday we noticed that she may now have her top teeth coming through. She is 9mths BTW.

She didn;t seem herself on sunday but we dosed her up with calpol etc. Problem is that sunday she also started having very loose nappies. In fact she has then about 3-4 times aday (usual amount of dirty nappies but just loose). This is resulting in many changes of clothing iykwim.
Should I be concerned? She is also not wanting "food" except for finger foods sych as biscuits/rusks,fruit etc. She is not wanting much milk (about 9oz a day) but is drinking lots of juice.

Would anyone consult their gp about this or is it the teething process.? The bottom teeth came through no probs and other than the above she is showing no other signs.

I probably wouldnt go to the doctor for what you have described. (maybe NHS direct or walk-in centre could set your mind at rest though?)

Re teething, my children didnt have many teeth at 9 months, Im pretty sure it was just 1 or 2. It was slower than the books said, but all the teeth came through eventually.

ds is nine months just getting 5th and 6th teeth. nappy smell when he is teething is a kind of disgusting acidy peppermint. lasts for about three/ four days.

id have loved minty fresh lum!

lummox · 28/02/2006 20:06

fresh probably going a bit far, but has a definite ting.

your lemony sounds quite wholesome in a nanette-newmanish kind of way.

wish I'd managed to go on a wine tasting course before getting knocked up. would have managed far more poetic descriptions.

LOL..!!! there is no way nappies can even be nice !! Wink.
Cod I tried to only give dd juice at meal times as she didn't drink inbetween but now over the last few days she is drinking loads which I presume is normal.?

Cod if you give your ds/dd water doing you give cool boiled or out of a tap..? I will start from tomorrow giving water only as I must be honest I don't want her drinking lots of juice. Just seem to have fallen into that trap iykwim. Sad.

Nappies have been v bad for last 3 days...will monitor over next 1-2 days and go from there as it seems it quite common from whats being said on this thread.
