Cervical Polyps

I have google (I know I know I know).

A couple of symptoms I am exeriencing seem to fit in with this.

Bleeding from Vagina post bowel movement and permanent discharge post period.

However I did have a smear in December would this have been picked up on the smear?

don't understand the connection between bowel movements, vaginal bleeding and polyps

go and see your GP - you can have polyps for years and have no symptoms and if they are not in the immediate area of the cervix they may not be picked up on a smear.

have to say though it doesn't sound like cervical polyps to me and i have just had one removed the size of a golf ball! symptoms will vary according to age however but see your GP as they will be able to give much better advice than google

Have been seeing GP for the discharge and long heavy periods for over 6 months, but it was dismissed as being the pill injection. However the bowel movement issue is relatively new, so wanted to check. I know google is wrong but after lots of tests and internals with GP I didn't want to go back if I am honest.

This came up on a couple of sites.

A cervical smear is not a test designed to detect polyps - do you know you have one or are you guessing because of your symptoms?
I suggest going back to your GP to tell them about the recent development.

Thank you, have no idea if I do have them just googled symptoms. To be honest this has been going on so long I have given up with my GP. Will have to return I know, will bite the bullet and get appointment again.
