White spots on baby's tongue - could it be anything other than thrush?

Baby is 7 1/2 months. Has nasty cold and cough. Last two days has been drooling a lot and has gone off solids. Thought he was teething but noticed little white spots on his tongue. Could it be anything other than oral thrush? Will it go away by itself or must I see doc?

The chances are that it is thrush. My 4 and half month old had it not so long ago. He couldnt suck on his teat properly, so dh took him to the docs and gave him drops for his toungue. Cleared up really quick.

I can only see a few spots. He has a cold so is run down at the moment.

It could just be part of having a cold too.

Aha - they have gone and he did have a cold.
