Gallstone advice please

I have gallstones.

Have had the scan to confirm and am on the list but have a possible 12 weeks to go.

Normally I plod along ok and since changing my diet have been lucky and had very few attacks.

But today I am in agony. Normally it happens at night time and last 3-4 hours and painkillers take the edge off. But I've been in pain since breakfast and the painkillers (co-dydramol) aren't really touching it.

I'm pacing, laying on my side stretched out, hugging a hot water bottle all to no avail.

Any tips?

Just bumping for the daytime crowd.

Still uncomfortable but it's eased quite a bit.

Can't seem to get a doctors appointment for love nor money today.

If it really doesn't ease up, consider a trip to A & E. Not to worry you, but I had a gallstone lodged in bile duct - was excruciating and became infected. Hope you feel better soon - gallstones are vile...

No real advice but as a gall stone survivor you have my sympathy!! When I had a bad attack I had to take pethidine, it was the only thing that would take the edge off. Definately go back to the g.p for stronger painkillers.

Walkin clinic or beg at GP's?

Mine did this, sudden excruciating agony and then a sudden ease, albeit still uncomfortable. Turns out that it had perforated - I'm not trying to scare you, but I'd really try to get seen.

Bum :(

Better try begging the afternoon receptionist then.

It's never really gone on so long.

I don't like the hard drugs. Strong ones make me sick and I'm alone with the kids and too scared in case I get spaced out too much

Thanks though:).
