Oh here I go, I'm asking about *periods*... well, I haven't had one in ages so I've forgotten!..

Haven't had a period (till today!) for about 10 weeksish (am expressing milk for DD, 4 and a half monthsish)... I started with a really yucky period today, it just poured black clotty blood for a few hours, and then turned to buckets (or so it seems) of bright red blood.... should I be worrying at all?

My periods before pregnancy were quite heavy, but not usually so painful or..erm...icky!

Just want to check!

sounds like a normal one of mineI would just keep an eye on it and if its still as heavy on monday got to drs. I tend to get 2 days of gushing heavyness then it eases to a 'normal' period.

Oh, good

Feel about 12 and like I'm going 'Muuuuum...?'

I'm glad in some ways to read this - I called my doctor 2 weeks ago to ask exactly the same - clotty dark blobs - thick red blood - he said well thats what happens in a period particulary after a baby - I felt silly and wished I hadn't called him!!! So I'm sure we are fine and normal!!!

fastasleep · 26/02/2006 18:16

Youuuuch just came on to moan it's got worse!! Horrible cramps and I'm all dizzy, keep having to run to the loo where it just pours out, like literally cupfulls of the stuff with great big yucky clots in....I don't want periods anymore this is horrible... think I have a bit of a temp too siiiigh

You poor thing I found after the birth of my two that periods were heavy for the first couple of days and they still are. I hate them too.
I would get checked out by the doctor if you've got a temp too.

fastasleep · 26/02/2006 18:27

Poo @ periods! I want my insides cut out! I'm fed up of having a temp every five minutes now lol (thanks to lymphangitis and then flu...)

will February never eeennndddd?!

Thankyou for bothering to reply to my utterly pathetic sniffling moan

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 27/02/2006 12:09

welcome to my world hun!

Its CRAP..... will say my period this month was relatively normal (18 weeks after Becky was born and 3rd period) but the first 2 is was in total agony, HUGE DARK CLOTS like you describe, flooding a super plus tampon and a night time towel in less than an hour.... scary stuff..... but as i said, this months was relatively normal.

Hope you feel better soon xxx

fastasleep · 27/02/2006 20:06

In floods still today but went out all day anyway because my friend's off on holiday and I would've missed her otherwise! Had to rush to the loo once and just sit there while it poured out... and managed to stain my (black thankfully) jeans!! But I'm all right, just a dizzy!

Hope they get back to normal!

Thanks for asking you're so sweet Grin
