liver cysts

Has anyone had any experience of these and the treatment/outcome? My friend has just been diagnosed and is awg further tests.

No,sorry but curious generally as I have to have a liver scan soon - how were they diagnosed?

my mum ( in ninties now ) apparently has numerous cysts on her liver and one quite large one - diagnosed by ultrasound ( like the scan in pregnancy ,think it's ultrasound ) about 10 years ago .

I think they were concerned in case they blocked any ( bile ? ) ducts ,but they don't .

When first noted a liver biopsy was suggested but my mother didn't want this ( 80 then ) .

They don't seem to have caused any problems and when she was scanned again last week they said they were no larger .

Don't know if that's any help .

didl, I know they biopsied so it may have been ultrasound (?) but no results yet, don't know full details as yet
