sore tongue - oral thrush?

For the past week or so I've had a really sore tongue and it seems to be getting worse. It started with a very dry mouth and a funny sour taste at the back of my throat which I initially thought was just a weird pregnancy symptom (I'm only 6 weeks) but it progressed to just having a really painful tongue. It seems red and slightly swollen round the edges and there are a couple of tiny blisters visible at the front, but it's not really white and furry (apart from at the very back of my tongue), so I'm not sure about the thrush diagnosis.

Apart from being a bit miserable with it (eating and drinking hurts like a bugger), I'm also worried about whether it's something that will affect the pregnancy. I couldn't get a doctor's appt till Monday, and am vacillating between thinking it's something really minor, and wondering if I should see an emergency doctor in case it's going to make me miscarry (total early pregnancy paranoia Wink)...

I had this a couple of weeks ago, lasted about a week, the front of my tongue had blisters and the whole tongue was sore. I have no idea what it is though but I dont think it is thrush as I didn't have a white coating. Am curious as to what it was...

It could be a vitamin deficiency, but as you a pregnant id be wary about taking extra vits without checking with a doctor first.
