Hi all. Looking for any paeds health care professionals or anyone in the know about paediatric injection techniques.
My dd has just had her second lot of imms and I am slightly concerned about the injection technique that the nurse used.
Firstly she did not pull back on the syringe to make sure she wasn't in a vein secondly the injection site was really posterior on her leg on the lower aspect of her hamstring just above her knee.
Am I missing something? Is this reasonable practice in paeds? Cause I would fail a student for it in adult practice. Don't really want to cause problems but this is the second time it's happened tia
