I'm so annoyed with my aunt... rant alert

My poor niece has had nits on and off quite frequently for the last five years. The poor girl is snided. She's only just turning ten, so not old enough to constantly do her own hair IMO. My aunt just doesn't seem to have her priorities right. She'll wash my niece's hair in vinegar ever so often but it's obviously not working. Why cant she just spend five minutes a day just combing through her hair?
I've caught them at least six times off my niece, it annoys me so much. Went up last week to my grandparents, she was there and snided. Only noticed after she'd been holding my DD.
Any suggestions on how it could be tackled? Should my aunt be confronted (brick wall) or should I teach my niece how to de-nit herself?!

It sounds like you might need to teach your neice, poor girl. What's 'snided' by the way?

snided as in the nits are crawling through the hair, they're massive and you can see them without having to look for them iykwim

i would buy some stuf and do it for her. theat poisen stuff is good if she is crap at regualr combing. then tell neice to kep an eye with comb.

Isn't the girl your cousin if she is your aunts daughter?

The poor child. If it was me I would say something about it. If it goes in one ear and out the other then you might need to have your cousin round a day or two and show her how to do it herself.

The thing about the proper nit stuff is that I have done her at least five times (we are going back to when she was five / six years old), and my mum has done her hair loads of times too. But then any good work is undone by the fact that at home nobody really cares.

fireflyfairy2 - I am a bit brain dead!! Yes, she is my cousin! She calls me Aunty though, we've always been really close, I began baby sitting for her when she was three months old, used to spend Fri night to Sun afternoon babysitting.
