Would instead suggest you seek medical advice from your GP.

If your periods are very heavy (and fibroids can be a factor in this) this can cause anaemia symptoms.

Persistant period pains should be investigated further to establish the undelrying cause. If GP is unhelpful ask for a referral to a gynae. Whatever happens do not be fobbed off!!!.

Yep I had this (still do). I've got endometeriosis. I'd go to your gp and they'll prescribe some different types of pain killers & pills to ease the bleeding. If they don't work then you'll be referred for a laproscopy (only way of detecting endo).
Good luck. x

Beetroot,

go seed medical assistance. I had similar a while back. Usually suffer every month but some months were so bad that I actually collapsed.

Had acute candida, clamydia and endomitriosis... wasn't I the lucky one!

Not saying you have any of those, but it might well be a good idea to rule them out.

As for the needing a poo when the pain hits... same here... mine is due to a retrvert uterus pushing on god knows what when convulsing.

Good luck!

Beety, sounds v familiar to me too - and I have endometriosis. I used to not quite faint (but nearly), but get clammy and shaky and sick. Bowel thing sounds familiar too...

Beetroot · 21/02/2006 09:43

ok will go to docs...canot beleive it is endometriosis though, have never had trouble conceiving etc

It doesn't always affect fertility. It didn't affect mine - PCOS did that [wry grin]

They sound just like mine used to be, fainting, vomiting and really urge for poo, with the cramps at the same time, labour didn't seem so bad after them because at least the contractions came and went and you got a rest in between. I never found anything to help except being pregnant, and the doctors just prescribed mefenamic acid which I'm not sure did much. I use to take feminax (which has a smooth muscle relaxant that is supposed to relax the uterus) which may have helped a bit. I don't seem to have had it so bad since having children, is yours worse than before? I was never diagnosed with endometriosis. I read something about magnesium deficiency causing worse cramps so mnight be worth looking into that. Hope you find something.

beetroot I have the exact same thing. not every month and don't have heavy bleeding. I have just accepted it but think after reading this I had better go to the docs again too

mcmum · 22/02/2006 08:52

beetroot, my pain only comes when im on and go for poo! ive got endometriosis in my bowel ! lovely eh does hurt for wees too though, apparently my uterus lies on my bowel and it goes into to spasm as soon as you need to go - go as putting it off makes it worse,
