I have just received a letter with a date for my mammogram after being referred by GP due to finding a lump and having some pain. The letter says my mammogramm is next week and then has a clinic appointment for 4 weeks later. WilI I have to wait 4 weeks for the results?
The wait just for the mammogram is making me anxious let alone waiting 4 weeks for the results.

Its usually a few weeks, well in my experience of the regular ones. They have to be looked at by a radiagrapher and a consultant if I remember rightly. I had one and was refered to the unit at bromsgrove and that appointment took three weeks. Its the wait for the appointment for the consultant thats the issue so they can give the results cos I had a repeat mamogram and an ultrasound at the clinic and both results given almost immediately.

I hope it goes ok for you.

I have mine privately and get results immediately. Some NHS hospitals have one stop clinics where you can get results at once-I would ring up and explain about your anxiety and ask if you can hae results quicker-4 weeks is too long to be scared.
good luck
