I went to the doctor on thursday as I found a lump in my breast a few weeks ago and felt it again last week. She examined me also felt the lump and has referred me for tests. My breast has felt painful. I have been worried sick and upset. However today I am finding it hard to feel the lump. This happened before where I thought I felt a lump and then could not then could. Has this happened to other people. Would feel a bit of an idiot to get to breast clinic and they cannot find it.

I have felt a lump and been referred on 2 occasions. The second it epwas really awkward to feel, right behind the nipple, my dh couldn't feel it and I'm sure the GP couldnt, but she said she could and referred me. By the time the hospital appt came, two weeks, I had stopped trying to feel it as I felt it made me worry more. But at the hospital, the specialist couldn't feel it either, but scanned me to be sure. Nothing there. So it's fine, if there's nothing there, have all the checks anyway, the specialists and doctors are perfectly used to this.
I did feel a bit of a plum, but It's much better to be safe.

Thanks Spookey. One breast has been painful for a while and lump felt very prominent but not so prominent today but Doc did say she felt it and have felt lump myself about a month ago. Will go and have the tests as like you I kept trying to touch it and it is making me feel worse worrying. I guess if I feel it sometimes then not then it is best to get it checked. Went to docs last week expecting her to say it was nothing but was shocked when she said she felt it and I broke down in the surgery so needs to be checked for peace of mind. Thanks Smile
