Sonnet do you have a juicer? If so there's quite a good book called SUPER JUICE that includes 2 or 3 detox schedules... They're quite good (IMHO)

Sonnet · 04/12/2003 10:41

I have done the cabbage soup diet and it really does work well, do you hate all cabbage? I use white cabbage so it is not that nasty strong flavoured green stuff!

Otherwise just do the diet without the soup.

Day 1 - Fresh fruit, eat as much fresh fruit as you like (except bananas) I do an exotic friut salad with pineapple, melon, grapes, passion fruit as a topping. Apples, satsumas, grapes, pears etc. Drink herbal tea (or black tea) and water. Avoid coffee, fizzy diet drinks etc.

Day 2 - Fresh veggies, eat everything in sight! I usually do a massive box of veggie sticks inc mini sweetcorn, sugar snap peas, peppers, carrots, cucumber, celery, tomatoes etc. Munch all day on these. In the evening you can have a large JKT potato with butter!! I do a veggie casserole with veggies and passata and herbs with it. Drink loads of water

Day 3 - Fresh friut and Veg, combine day one and two, but no jkt potato I usually have fruit salad for breakfast, veggie sticks during the day and fruit, then the remains of the veggie casserole for dinner.

I find this works really well, you can eat as much as you want (and I do eat loads) but I usually lose about 3 - 4lbs and my tummy feels much flatter afterwards.

that's fantastic Crunchie - I'm off to Tesco at lunch time to stock up!!

Could I call today day 1: I've had so far: natural yog with a sprinkling of muslie(SP) and dried apricots, grapefurit segments, 2 pints of water ( have had 2 large black coffees though!!) - maybe I should be careful for the rest of the day but call tomorrow day 1!!

Thanks again both of you....

I would call tomorrow day 1.
My shopping list for the 3 days would be
1 x Pineapple
1 x Melon
1 bag grapes
1 bag apples
2 x passion fruit
1 bag satsumas
1 pack baby sweetcorn
1 pack sugar snap peas
1 bunch celery
3 x red/orange peppers
1 bag raddish
1 punnet baby tomotoes
1 x cauliflower
small bunch broccoli
1 x cucumber
3 x carrots
2 x courgettes
2 x leeks
1 punnet mushrooms
1 jar passata
1 large potato

Believe me I do eat the lot!! The trick is to eat as much as possible so you don't get hungry and start craving other stuff. The only thing I would advise is to prepare everything when your resolve is good! Then you can grab when you need it. I do like the cabbage soup though as I use loads of herbs and chilli which makes it more of a hot and sour type flavour. It really seems to fill you up, for about an hour!!
