okay, I have moaned and groaned at my ridiculously heavy periods for the past 3 years. Every month, flooding when I walk, changing pads and tampons every hour, Monthly prescriptions for tranaexamic acid etc etc moan moan!

But this month..............my period has, at best only, sqeaked at me. I mean it isn't even red, it's pink. There is naff all there! not even needed anything more than a liner down below for half a day. I should be doing the conga round the house in joy, but I am merely confused/worried/concerned.

I am 35, 3 children 4-13yo. anyone elses very heavy periods just stopped?

(not pregnant I hope. We've had no accidents, no split condoms (DH waiting for his vasectomy appointment).

Perimenopause?

thanks in anticipation of a very simple explanation Grin

Mine became really heavy a few months ago, but now start with a few days of 'barely there' so I'm hoping someone comes along with help for you....

I also have very heavy periods, I have had this twice, once with a ectopic pregnancy that did not show on a test, and once with a early M/C.

Hi frangipan,

Such changes ought to be reported to a gynae as well as the GP.

Has your GP never bothered to refer you on but instead prescribed transexamic acid tabs for the last three years?. Appalling if this is the case. Such tablets are all very well and good but do not even begin to address the underlying cause and something is causing this to arise. Both fibroids and or endometriosis can cause heavy bleeding.

Do not be fobbed off, return to the GP to report this change and insist on a gynae referral. Do not put up with this.

thanks for the help. I think I have just accepted it and carried on regardless Atilla. I think I will go back to the GP and push to get it sorted out once and for all. Have sent DH to Sainsbo's for a pregnancy test just to make sure Grin
