Link between blocked nose and depression?

Hoping to have surgery on my left nostril which doesn't drain properly. At the slightest cold I get painful infection etc but just get on with it. I've had a CT scan and am just waiting to see a specialist hopefully with view to surgery .In recent months though my nostri's been more blocked than not,and I'm experiencing symptoms which I recognise from when I had PND ie zero tolerance, low mood, irritable, lack of concentration etc. as though part of my brain just isn't fuctioning! The fact that my blocked nose causes me broken sleep and crazy dreams doesn't help. Just wondered if anyone has any knowledge/experience of this?

No particular knowledge or experience I'm afraid, but there is a very strong link between tiredness and some of the symptoms of depression. I am quite convinced that many Mums (and Dads) experiencing the milder 'Baby Blues' form of PND have actually just hit the brickwall of tiredness.

I hope you feel better after your op.

I seem to always have a blocked nose probably allergy related and also prone to anxiety and low mood. I remember when I took Seroxat years ago it seemed to calm my whole system down so I did not sneeze so much and my nose was not so stuffy.

Thanks so much! Have been away and then forgot to check this. Lack of sleep or non-nightmarish sleep isn't helping. Off to hospital on Tues and hoping surgery will sort the problem.
