Canesten applicator for thrush

I am 34wks pregnant and have just spent a week on antibiotics, one or both of which has caused me to develop thrush. I have been prescribed Canesten cream and the cream applicator today. I want to ask who else has used the applicator while they've been pregnant? I know it says insert it as far as is comfortable but that doesn't mean comfortable is safe! I'm pretty worried as I don't want to do any harm so how much of the applicator did you insert?

I have recurring thrush when I'm pg and now consider myself a non-expert expert ;) My GP told me to insert it so that it stays in but not very far - about as far as the end of the fat bit where the pessary tablet slots in.

Right up as far as you can reach.
Otherwise you end up treating the lower end and the upper end is still thrushy and it just keeps growing. And that is why it kerps recurring.

Thank you for your replies. I eventually plucked up the courage and tried it, it was much easier than I thought but am still worried and just hope I didn't push it too far to cause any damage.
