This is slightly embarrassing but I have been to the GP and had no answers and wonderd if anyone else had experienced this.

I have a very heavy dishcharge on a daily basis. I used to have intense itching but this has now stopped. I went to the GP back in march when it started and I had antibiotics as there was an infection. Cleared up lovely, but within a week it was back. Tried all the creams that you can buy at the chemists but nothing worked. Went back to GP and they did a swab...came back negative....but I still get a very heavy discharge. It is yellow in colour and, to me, it smells and I am embarrassed in case my work colleagues can smell it too (tho no one has said anything but I can smell it which then makes me think others can too).

Should I go back to the GP or is this normal? I am not in a sexual relationship and haven't been for months, so I know it's not an STI.

Any advice? Blush

Do you think it might be Vaginosis?

VivaLeBeaver · 23/05/2012 07:19

Go back to the gp and don't be embarrassed, believe me the gp has seen it all before and then some. You need to get it sorted. If you're worried about people been able to smell it then it doesn't sound normal.

It might be jalopy but wouldn't that have been picked up by the swab test?

I have had a lot of emotional stress over the last few months and didn't know if is could b a trigger for it?

def not thrush? have you tried a diflucan 1 pill? Antibiotics would make it worse

Could be bacterial vaginosis - that has a distinct 'fishy' odour. GP may treat it with strong antibiotics (metronidazole), or you can get Balance Activ (from Boots, Tesco, etc) or you can actually get it on prescription.

May be worth going to a GU clinic - they are far more experienced than GP.

I'd go back does sound like vagsnosis. It isn't normal discharge so best to get checked again.

I had a problem similar to this went back and forth to GP, with no diagnosis.

I was advised by another GP to go to the GUM clinic they were so helpful and experienced. At the clinic they can run all sorts of tests with results while you wait.

All free and cofidential they don't even use your name they just give you a number.
