Compressed discs

I have compressed discs at the top of my neck. I have been to the chiropractor who has manipulated and massaged but 3 weeks later it is still an absolute PITA. I have had 3 sessions at the chiro but no luck getting it sorted and untrapping the nerve(s). I am going to the docs on Monday to get stronger pain killers but is there anything else I can be doing to help it get better more quickly. My chiro said heat packs which helps ease the pain but when the heat is gone the pain is back. It is very sore in certain positions, down my neck, shoulder and shoulder blade.
Please help!!

If some if it is swollen, use ibruprofen to reduce the inflammation. You can take paracetemol at the same time or alternating with ibruprofen which can help manage the top level if pain. And similarly instead of heat packs, use either gel packs or frozen peas wrapped in a tea towel for 10 to 20 mins at a time.

Check the position you are holding your neck in when reading or in front of a screen. And your back. Check with your chiropractor that you have the right sort of chair or back rest.

At night, check the right sort and level of pillows. Again your chiropractor should have advice.
Not sure that helps but have a nice cup of tea and sympathy from here.

Keep going on the ibruprofen because it is cumulative. Poor you.
